Freshjive Fall/Winter 2010 Collection
Posted by Jesse.N on June 28th, 2010

I know it’s hard to think about Fall/Winter, especially here, where it has been in the 90s 13 days this month, but Freshjive is previewing their Fall/Winter 2010 “Unbranded” Collection. The concept is to present a more grown up look with less giant branding and labeling. In its second season, attention seems to shifts from graphics to cut and sew pieces with quality craftsmanship. The idea is reminiscent of when Stussy launched their Deluxe line.

Jinxed Custom Qee Show Opening
Posted by Ronnie Bullets on June 28th, 2010

This past Saturday we headed down to The Piazza at Schmidt’s, here in Philadelphia, because they were showing Twilight on their huge outdoor screen and some of the stars were there signing autographs!!!!! As exciting as that sounds, it is unfortunately a total lie. Although lucky for all of the thirteen year old girls in the area, that actually was happening while we were there. What team are you on?

The REAL reason we were down there was for the Jinxed Custom Toy2R Qee Show that was happening at Jinxed/Toothless Cat Gallery. Mike “Supermodel”, from Jinxed had his usual weekend BBQ going on right outside the shop and inside were cool PBR’s and almost 2 dozen Qee’s that had been painted, mummified, sculpted over…almost anything you can name, these artists did it to make their Qee. Don’t know what a Qee (pronounced, KEY) is? Much like the more widely known, Munny, it is a blank vinyl figure that gives the owner room to get creative with it and truly make it their own. One of the Qee’s even had Velcro mustache’s that were interchangeable and provided viewers with felt to make their own. There was a good vibe throughout the show, and although the gallery never got super packed at any one given time, there was a constant flow of people the entire night checking out everyone’s work.

As far as I know, a few of these pieces did sell that night, but if you see something that you are interested in, drop us a line and we can get you in touch with the artist and see if it is still available or not.

Union Foundry Rotafixer T0001-0A
Posted by Jesse.N on June 23rd, 2010

Massachusetts seems to be a mecca of talented individuals in tons of different ways, so it’s no surprise that an innovative and well designed product like this was conceived there. Josh Kampa from Open Bicycle and Aaron Panone from Aaron Works Design have gotten together to create Union Foundry who’s goal is to re-examine the standard and see if it can be re-designed in a more efficient and elegant way. The first project to be tackled was and easier way to get the lockring off your bike. The answer is the Rotafixer T0001-0A. READ MORE AFTER THE JUMP »»
