A morbid curiosity shop Requiem, is home to an assortment of the macabre and the unusual; from taxidermied animals, jewelry made from small skeletal pieces, antique medical equipment and so many things in between. Come celebrate with owner & founder, Chloë Mox Wagner, her fiance and assistant buyer, Jaws Pasozyt, and good friends this Friday from 11am-8pm. There will be snacks and giveaways throughout the day until closing at 8:00pm.
A few words from Chloë Mox Wagner: I have spent my entire life collecting anything I found to be unusual or macabre. Dead insects, taxidermy, vintage medical implements, eerie antique portraits, you name it. Some I kept for display, others I dismantled for use in my line of jewelry comprised of bits of bone, teeth, insects, porcelain doll parts, and more. I have since realized that there are others out there with a taste for the creepier things in life, and have decided to share my collection with them by opening up Requiem, a small curiosity shop in the Heart of South Philadelphia. Whether in search of embalmers tools, or a two-headed duckling, I’d like to think that there is something for everyone here, and I am always on the lookout for the next great piece, so I encourage people to bring in anything they think might be a good fit, and we can go from there.
I am SO beyond stoked to check out Chloës new spot. She’s a way rad chik, a native New Yorker such as myself, as well as a very dear friend of my cousin Ed. So lets welcome her with open arms and show her how we do in thee ol’ dirty. Come out and support this wonderful new addition to the neighborhood and lets help take South Street back !! See ya’s on Friday, ya nerds ..
