Tonight philadelphia get ready for the first solo performance form Thursdays Geoff Rickly since the split of the band in November of 2011. Here is part of the bands last post on there site “This year, Thursday has had so much to celebrate: our new record, No Devolución, came out ten years, to the week, after the record that was to become our touchstone: Full Collapse. To have one record still being celebrated a decade after it’s release and another to be met with such critical acclaim was really more than we ever could’ve imagined. We just wanted to play basement shows in New Brunswick. It’s funny… That sounds like a well-worn line now but it’s absolutely the truth.”
Join us(Gunners Run) for this rare opportunity to hear Geoff perform songs from his hugely popular band, Thursday. Don’t miss this event! Admission is free and there will be drink and food specials as well. Get there early! (must be 21+)

Friday nights in May, Ducky takes over the ones and twos in the lobby. Ducky is the labor of love of San Francisco born songstress Morgan Neiman — a transportive flurry of infectious beats, bass lines and synths, and vocals that skip from soaring to sweet.
This event is free and open to all ages. Add this to your calendar on Facebook.
We have DJs and sound installations nearly every night of the week and live music every Sunday evening curated by Chris Tucci. Here’s the DJ lineup for May:
My father lives (and hoards) in rustic ol’ Rochester NY. Not much would pull me to this bygone home of the great hunter and Kodak founder, George Eastman, but the fact that my pops is there. Well, there are also some pretty rad artists, Lea Rizzo being one of them.
We begrudgingly shelled out a door fee for a not-so-awesome bar called Bug Jar where her work is currently installed. A little further exploration and her art led me to Sweet Meat Co. a Rochester art collective, not too shabby! Just wanted to share this with you… maybe there is a reason, other than my father’s 3246 beer signs, 392 lawn mowers and 7000+ “I LOVE MY KITCHEN” plaques to visit this slice of Americana.
Lea Rizzo’s installation remains on view through June 6

You are cordially invited to attend “PHILADELPHIA,” an homage to the city that has raised me post-university.
It occurred to me about 5 months ago that I should paint this strange place. Since moving here, August 2010, I’ve been struck by the nature of the city: its subcultures, its layout, its people and its movements. Daily, the dramatic juxtaposition of decay and rebirth stops me mid-commute, constantly challenging what I consider to be normal to find in an American city in the 21st century. You can expect to see a body of work largely representational, although not completely, of scenes uniquely “Philadelphian.” These are moments belonging to my own personal experience in the last 4 months; they are from my kitchen, my rollerblade commute, a day at the museum or an interesting encounter. My hope, however, is that this show transcends my own experience and feels familiar to residents and visitors alike. It is a show that investigates appropriation, site specificity and the role of the illustrator as a sort of historian, a recorder of time. So please join me May 4th at Part Time Studios for the opening of PHILADELPHIA, A Painting and Drawing Show by Aj Rombach.
