“1987″ by Casio G-Shock, is an urban retro-style video shot on the streets of New York City, the home of BMX icon Nigel Sylvester. The video, titled 1987 the year Nigel was born, celebrates a collaborative timepiece between Casio G-Shock and Nigel. As an adult, Nigel looks back on his year of birth as a time of great creative freedom and experimentation. The film was created to capture that spirit.
The cinematography takes reference from classic arcade games. The sound design draws spirit from the associated 16 bit soundtracks that emanated from the computers of that time. The graphic approach pays homage to Casio.
In the final edit of the three-part “All Day Sessions” series from Gatorade, Nigel Sylvester and Ralphy Ramos head out to Bay Area, California. A long day of bombing hills, hitting up spots and a group ride around the city all lead to an exclusive performance by Dom Kennedy. Soundtrack features the track “2 mph” by Dom Kennedy, featuring Big K.R.I.T. Video shot by Glenn PP Milligan.
In Nigel Sylvester’s second edit, in his three-part series from Gatorade, he and Ralphy Ramos make their way inland and hit-up the ever-vibrant and colorful New Orleans. The guys cruise the city, checking out the French Quarter, local shops and local flavor along the way.
Soundtrack features the track “Just Touched Down” by Big K.R.I.T.
Video shot by Glenn PP Milligan.

This is the third and final installation of the Go All Day trilogy that Gatorade has put out with Nigel Sylvester. The sequence of events in these videos threw me for a loop at first, but it’s obvious now, this video completes the missing part of Nigel’s day. It started by showing the end of his night in Episode 1, and the beginning of it in Episode 2. Check out The Afternoon Episode now!
The first episode of Go All Day followed Nigel through his night in NYC of photo shoots, riding the city, and capping it off with a dance party. Sounds like a good night if you ask me. Episode 2, The Morning Episode picks up where the other one left off. After Nigel passes out from a hard night of riding and partying, a phone call wakes him up to get him back on 2 wheels riding the Brooklyn Banks, as well as a multitude of other spots. Watch for the aerial view over the Williamsburg Bridge. Pretty awesome. Along with the perfect bar spins Sylvester is laying down, there is another banging Donnis track that everything is set to.
Nigel Sylvester and Gatorade are responsible for this video showing the life of Mr. Sylvester himself. I enjoyed this video even though it was a little “hokie”, it still had a good vibe to it and is a lot of fun to watch. Be on the lookout for more installments as this is the first in a trilogy.
